Consulting
SDI provides
complete business and system consulting services
for our customers to insure the maximum ROI is
realized from the system. SDI’s business and
technical consultants work with each new
customer to prepare a functional requirement
specification defining the project. This
functional specification defines customer
specific application and operational details,
implementation time frames and all system
integration requirements. Once completed the
functional requirement specification is used by
all project personnel as an implementation
guide.
Consulting services are made available to SDI’s
existing customers to support ongoing system
enhancements, hardware updates, network
enhancements among others.

System Implementation Services
SDI’s has
successfully installed several thousand retail
stores using its proven implementation concepts.
SDI assigns a project manager, lead developer,
lead validation person and trainer to each
project. This project team is responsible for
coordinating project activities with other
project members to insure successful
implementation of the project. Implementation
services include:
Project
Management
SDI’s project manager acts as a single point of
contact for a project and is responsible for
coordinating project activities with all project
team members and the customer’s project team.
The project manager is ultimately responsible
for insuring that the system meets customer
requirements and the project is delivered on
time, within budget.
System
Integration
SDI
provides complete system integration services.
These services include integration of the SDI
software with the hardware, peripherals and
operating software selected by the customer.
In addition to integration of SDI’s software
with selected store platforms, SDI also provides
integration support to insure complete
integration of SDI’s store applications with the
customer’s existing network communications,
credit authorization software and corporate
business applications.
Modification
and Development
Modifications to the existing IRIS system along
with some developments may be required to
satisfy all new system requirements and ongoing
enhancement requests for existing customers.
SDI has experienced personnel capable of
customizing the system to satisfy these
requirements. Validation and internal acceptance
testing is done on a customer specific lab
system at SDI’s facilities to insure the system
satisfies all requirements before delivery to
the customer.
Training
SDI provides training on its application software that is
specific to each customer installation. SDI’s
training department provides each customer with
boilerplate training documentation that is
specific to the customer’s implementation of the
software. Training is provided on System Control
Parameters, Point of Sale, Store Back Office
Applications, Communications, System
Administration and Gateway Support Applications,
among others.

Ongoing
Support Services
SDI believes in
personalized support. When you call SDI a real
person always answers the phone. Each SDI
customer is assigned a project lead to insure
each customer only has one person to call to
resolve any issues or manage ongoing projects.
SDI provides emergency phone support and
emergency services to all of its maintenance
customers 7 days a week, 24 hours a day. In
addition to emergency support services SDI
provides no charge error corrections, ongoing
modification and development services and business consulting to all of its
customers.
